Randomly visiting the Pace prints gallery in the neighborhood of Chelsea in New York, I discovered the art of Ryan McGinness. He is a New York based artist, that grew up in the skate and surf culture. McGinness is known for his original extensive vocabulary of graphic drawings which use the visual language of public signage, corporate logos, and contemporary iconography. His exhibition in Pace prints gallery called Figure Drawing is a continuation of his Women series. I was particularly sensitive to his nudes drawn with neon lights. These electric drawings capture the basic and most essential women forms and show the inherent sensuality of his models. New York is filled with neon signs praising the merits of randoms products or services, here they are just glowing sexiness.
